Bethesda Student Ministries is a place where students can be authentic and honest while discussing real life issues. We look at how God intersects with life and why it matters. All students, no matter their beliefs on life and God, are welcomed. It is a place to simply belong while being accepted and loved.
Bona Fide
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Middle School Night
During the school year, weekly gatherings for 6th to 8th graders every Wednesday from 6:15–7:45 pm in the Student Ministries room. This is a high-energy night for all middle school students to talk about life and faith in God. All friends are welcome.
Middle school LIFEgroups
LIFEgroups for middle school students meet during Middle School Night on Wednesday evenings. Groups are divided by age and gender.
Confirmation
Our Confirmation program is integrated into Bona Fide (our Middle School program) and lays the foundation for the curriculum in Bona Fide, as we’ll learn how the great truths of Scripture that are captured for us in the 10 Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, and the Lord’s Prayer are relevant to our lives. Through these core teachings, we’ll learn about God, learn about ourselves, and learn about our relationship with God through Jesus.
Confirmation is voluntary and goes beyond the curriculum of Bona Fide to include extra study at home with specific requirements. Confirmation concludes in the fall of students’ 9th grade year. More details found at the registration link.
An important tool we’ll use for homework in Confirmation is Moodle, a system similar to Canvas. An introduction video for access Moodle is available here. We encourage students work through these lessons with an adult mentor. Guidelines for mentors can be found here.
Another part of Confirmation is learning to engage in worship services and to process sermons. There are paper notes sheets available at church, but we’ve also created an online version you can use here.
Kairos
High School (Grades 9–12)
High school LIFEgroups
During the school year, LIFEgroups for high school students meet on Wednesday evenings three out of four Wednesday evenings. Groups are divided by age and gender.
High School Night:
On the 4th Wednesday, all Kairos LIFEgroups come together for a night of music, laughter, and discussing life in the real world.
2026 Summer Spiritual Formation Trip
July 12th – July 16th, 2026
UPENDED
Seeing the world through god’s eyes
UPENDED 2026 is a unique summer spiritual formation trip for our students. We have created and developed this trip from the ground up with our specific group of students in mind. No other groups will be joining us, which allows us to tailor the trip to our specific growth points. Our gatherings will focus on the theme Isaiah 55:8–9 which says,
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
God’s plan for His people to thrive is an upended version of the world’s plan. All that we study and do will build our relationship with Christ, and our relationships with each other. Learning to follow Jesus’s example while pushing ourselves and encouraging each other through it all. It won’t always be easy, but it will be well worth taking the challenge head-on.
We will be spending 4 nights in Garden City, Utah!
A large vacation rental that will allow us to all be housed together. This will give us good space to gather for bible study, conversations, create and serve our own meals and play together--all a part of learning how to live in Christ-centered community.
It is our hope and prayer that UPENDED will be a week with true-life impact on each of our kids, leaders, and Student Ministries as a whole. We will do everything we can to make it a memorable adventure while stretching our kids in new ways spiritually. We take this responsibility seriously; we look forward to working with you to make this trip a reality.
